TheOilHand.com is a private professional networking and communication platform exclusively for oil & gas workers (roughnecks, rig hands, tool pushers, company men, supervisors, office staff, and verified industry personnel). Features include profiles, activity feeds, groups, private messaging, video calling, file sharing, and shift/crew coordination.

3. Eligibility & Membership

• You must be 18 years or older.
• You must currently work (or have recently worked) in the oil & gas industry.
• All accounts are subject to manual approval by administrators.
• We reserve the right to deny or revoke membership at any time for any reason, including providing false information or violating these Terms.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Acceptable Use – You Agree NOT to:

• Post or share illegal, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or harassing content.
• Share confidential company information, proprietary data, or trade secrets.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code.
• Use the Site for commercial solicitation without written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or Site systems.
• Post any material that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights.

6. Safety & Offshore Rules

• No discussion of bypassing safety procedures or regulations.
• No photos or videos that violate rig/company safety policies.
• No sharing of personal location data that could compromise rig security.

7. Content Ownership & License

You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant TheOilHand.com a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, store, and moderate that content within the platform.

8. Termination

We may suspend or delete your account immediately, without notice, for violation of these Terms or at our sole discretion.

9. No Warranty

The Site is provided “as-is.” We do not guarantee 100% uptime, data preservation, or that the service will always be error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheOilHand.com and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site.

11. Governing Law

This information is used to build your public profile, connect you with crew members, messaging, and video calls inside the platform.

2. Activity, Posts, Comments & Private Messages

• All posts, comments, group activity, and private messages you send are stored.
• These are visible only to logged-in members (or specific groups/crews you choose).
• We retain this data indefinitely so crew histories, shift logs, and safety discussions remain available.

3. Media & File Uploads

• Photos, documents, safety certs, rig photos, etc., that you upload are stored on our servers.
• Avoid uploading images with embedded GPS location data (EXIF). Other members can download and view any location metadata in images you upload.

4. Cookies & Login Sessions

• We use cookies to keep you logged in and remember your display preferences.
• “Remember Me” cookies last 2 weeks; regular login cookies last 2 days.
• Temporary session cookies test whether your browser accepts cookies.
• Comment cookies (if enabled) save your name/email for convenience and last 1 year.

5. Embedded Content & Third-Party Services

• Posts may contain embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo), images, or links from other sites.
